John P. Thorsen
John P. Thorsen graduated from Florida State University in 1967 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Business with a Major in Accounting.
From 1968-1971 Mr. Thorsen served on the audit staff of Deloitte & Touche, LLP (formerly Haskins & Sells) as a Senior Accountant, In 1971 he joined Imperial Industries, Inc. as its chief financial officer and a member of its Board of Directors a positions he held until 1975 when he formed his own CPA firm specializing in accounting, auditing, management and financial advisory services, income taxes, and litigation support services including forensic accounting service and fraud investigation.
In addition to his practice as a certified public accountant Mr. Thorsen held concurrent positions as:
- Investigative consultant to the Florida State Board of Accountancy, Department of Business, and Professional Regulations
- Special Master to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court
- Instructor of Continuing Professional Education for the Florida and American Institutes of CPAs
- Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer position in several commercial enterprises
In addition to the CPA credential Mr. Thorsen held credentials as a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Forensic Accountant and was a member of various public and forensic accounting professional organizations.
