Maria C. Macias is a Certified Public Accountant with over 35 years of experience in the field of accounting. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from St. Thomas University in 1987. Maria began her career in the accounting field by working as a bookkeeper while pursuing her accounting degree.

Maria joined the public accounting firm of John Phillips Thorsen, P.A. as a junior staff accountant in 1988. She pursued her studies and became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida in 1990.

Since then she has continued to develop and hone her skills, knowledge, and experience in the areas of accounting, taxes, and auditing and progressed to the position of senior accountant with an emphasis in the audit and tax preparation functions of the firm.

Maria also gained experience in the area of support litigation by assisting the senior partner, John Phillips Thorsen, CPA/CFF, CFE, CrFA, with the preparation of several judicial matters pertaining but not limited to, damages and profit calculations.

Maria is a native of Cuba, raised and educated in Miami, Florida and is fluent in English and Spanish.
